Paula Poundstone Headlines Comedy Benefit in Benicia
Benicia, CA (PRWEB) September 11, 2007 -- Paula Poundstone, a regular on NPR and one the nation's busiest stand-up comediennes, headlines the Hayley Horn Auditorium on the Benicia High School campus Saturday, October 13th at 8 pm.
The show benefits the Benicia High School's Parent-Teacher-Student Association.
Poundstone is working the country promoting her new Random House, "There's Nothing In This Book I Meant To Say."
The Southern California resident returns to the Bay Area after her featured appearance at Comedy Day in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on September 30th.
The comic's Benicia appearance is the second in a three-concert series, "The Jokers of Ace," fundraisers sponsored by Pedrotti's Ace Hardware in Benicia.
"It took an alignment of the planets, but we were able land Paula," said Gene Pedrotti. "It should be a wild show."
Pedrotti's ACE Hardward in Benicia is the sponsor of the series that is being produced by Red Dragonfly Productions. Gene Pedrotti of Pedrotti's ACE Hardware says that while it might seem unusual for a retailer to help produce entertainment; really it's not. "If you can organize 25,000 items and give great customer service, it's no jump to help organize three comedy performances where the audience can laugh and have fun," said Pedrotti.
Other shows in the series are Rocky LaPorte on September 20th and Carlos Alazraqui on November 10th.
